About Me
Hello and welcome!
I’m Sophie, a UX designer with a background in health care, life sciences and customer service.
🐝 Currently, I support the product team at CareHive Health, where we work to deliver lower-cost care options to patients while supporting them with care navigation and clarity.
🏥 I have recent experience working as a Senior Clinical Coordinator at the Masonic Cancer Clinic where I was an advocate for the patients, helping them to coordinate their complex appointments schedules while working within the constraints of clinic capacity, provider availability and health insurance coverages.
🎲 I became fascinated with design during my last semester of undergrad while I was taking a Game Studio course. Our final project was to design a board game that helped to address a real world sustainability issue, using the sustainable development goals to guide us. The process of starting with a real sustainability issue and going through research and game conceptualization, goals, actions, strategies and real world impact left me wanting to do it all over again. It wasn’t until I went through my UX bootcamp that I realized the design process similarities between that game design course and UX!
🎯 I used to think I was only meant for a health care path but I am so glad I found UX when I did. My background in science gives me strength in my skills as a problem solver, logistical thinker, curious mind and detail-oriented individual. My background in health care and customer service explains my adaptability, empathy, effective communication and leadership skills.
😸 When I’m not working you can find me trying new recipes and new restaurants, traveling, taking pictures of every disco ball I see, cuddling with my cat Gizmo, at the gym (shout out Basecamp North Loop), and teaching myself new things–right now that happens to be learning Italian on Duolingo (talk about good UX/UI!!). Fun fact - I have an identical twin sister who is technically younger than me by 10 minutes!
😊 I love meeting new people so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
